Carole King: Natural Woman

A favourite of mine, performed by its writer Carole King (also written by Gerry Goffen) on my fave music show, Jools Holland. (Not easy to get his crowd singing either, unless a Hooternanny occasion!)

Beautiful song.

Early Sewuese n Sway Collab... remember this??

Just remembered this... lil blast from the past E.D.U if you didnt know about this tune! There have been several others (Sway and I have done some real good collaborations... check out Sick World on his 1st album 'This is My Demo') but this one is well noted by early followers! Seems like I been under the radar but all will be revealed soon!!!! (Very exciting)

Customising Phone

This clamshell phone is all about user customization. The grid lattice structure holds colored pins to mimic precious jewelry. Create all kinds of designs and patterns in full pixelated isometric glory. Limited edition versions with precious metals and gems could also be created to heighten the sense of personal style and design.

Cameleon Carry Bag

Cameleon Carry Bag is a bag that changes its color with the touch of a button. It uses e-paper, which is invention of electrophoresis technique, as the main appearance of the carry bag. The first button of the remote controls is for changing the patterns while the other is for switching on/off the EL.

Ladyhawke: Paris Is Burning

Saw this a while ago but it hasnt left me. Would have like to really get into the vid as much as the song, but it still rocks.

Pip Brown is a multi-instrumentalist and an obvious G. With her music, she wanted to evoke nostalgia and the mixture of emotions the music from the 70s and 80s concocted so fluently. Mission accomplished.

Lacoste Timewear

Had some nice simple apparel pieces in their last collection too

Who's beat, my beat, your beat... What!?!

(The cadence of that title could be a lil nursery rhyme couldn't it? Look at me.. sidelining before I even get started)

There's a lil fashion trend it seems... upsurge of beat-makers calling out other Producers, saying their ideas have been stolen!!

Now, I could have said the same thing... when I did a repro of Cameo's Candy for a song I did, 3 lil months before Mariah did hers (MC of all peepls!), or when Mario's You Should Let Me Love You used the SAME drum pattern as my joint The Beach - the SAME (hats, pattern, sounds - everything, VERBATIM) so even I had my theories. Call me naive, but I put it down to the fact I must have my finger on the pulse of good ideas, what's popular and good production baby. Suspicions and assumptions aside.

So I figured, this must happen a lot, right???

That's why I got a lot of respect for both Just Blaze and Black Spade who both recently took time out, sat and broke down to pieces, how they crafted and constructed the songs they were both respectively named for 'copying'. Both cats have been very gracious in what to me, seems to be a pretty obviously coincidence (and possibly a mild case of a condition I call claimabeatitis...) but that's just my humble opinion... either way, both vids are patience personified!

Mini Mute Entry: Why I Do This...

Last week, I went to talk to some college (in the US they're high school senior) students about a career in the music industry. I gave them the good, the bad, and a lil song at the end. I got some feedback when a few came and told me how inspired they were. One of them sent me this:

erm.... well u dont realy no me but you came to my college and i was in the last session that you had at the back. with another boy.
well what can i say realy.. hmm erm ....when i heard you talk about issues that you have come through to get to the position that you are in yes i wos touched but you have made me realise that i realy want to do music. that is what i do that is practically who i am. in a way im like you except for the lona part you were talking about that was funny
but yh i dont know what uve said that has made me push my music all the way but youve done it. i hope you were treated right at my colege people who were in my session really respect you because you could have been put down by things around you but yet you went all the way because that is what you wanted to do and that is what i want to do aswell. o i forgot to say my names ceejay ok.
thanyou

On a separate occasion, a lady had emailed me, telling me how my music had touched her, and that one of my songs would be the song that would be playing for her first dance at her wedding.

Every time I get up and sing, or go meet people, all the BS and perils of working in this industry become so petty. There are so many stupid distractions along the way, but like I said, I wanna share a gift I know I have been given, so I feel privileged, and I aint even really scratched the surface yet. Thank you for reminding me why I do this.
